SMX Advanced 2027: Which Iconic City Will Unlock the Future of SEO – San Diego or Boston?

Ever wondered what it would be like if SMX Advanced threw not one, but two parties in 2027? Well, buckle up, because for the very first time ever, they’re hitting both coasts—San Diego in March and Boston in September—giving us double the chances to soak in top-tier search marketing tactics. Since 2007, SMX Advanced has been the secret sauce for seasoned pros hungry for strategies that actually work, not just fluff. And this year marks its 20th anniversary—a nice little milestone to celebrate with deeper dives, expert chats, and plenty of networking to boot. So, if you’ve been craving more than the usual SEO mumbo jumbo and want to supercharge your game without hopping on a cross-country flight twice in one year, this is your moment. Curious? LEARN MORE.

It’s official: There will be two SMX Advanced events in 2027. The shows are scheduled for March 17 to 19 in San Diego and Sept. 20 to 22 in Boston. This is the first time SMX Advanced will run twice in one year.

Two coasts, two events. The expanded schedule will give you two chances to join the advanced search marketing conference, with one event on the West Coast and one on the East Coast.

Since 2007, SMX Advanced has focused on advanced, actionable tactics designed for experienced search marketers looking for ideas, strategies, tactics, insights, and tools they can use when they return to work.

What to expect. The programming will include expert-led sessions, deeper discussions, and in-depth Q&A. Both SMX Advanced shows will include structured and informal networking, giving you time to meet peers, potential hires, employers, and other people across the search community.

Why we care. SMX Advanced is built for experienced practitioners who want more than basic search advice. By adding a second in-person SMX Advanced event in 2027, we’re giving more people access to advanced programming without requiring everyone to travel to one coast. Next year will also be the 20th anniversary of SMX Advanced, which launched in 2007 in Seattle.

Exclusive programming. The team behind Search Engine Land, along with a programming committee of SEO and PPC experts, will put together the agenda.
