Google’s New AI Report Is Hiding Something
Last month Google added a report to Search Console that most business owners have never opened.
Let me show you what it says. And what it leaves out.
Open Search Console, click performance, there’s a new section, Generative AI.
It shows you impressions. That’s how many times one of your pages appeared inside an AI answer. An AI Overview, or AI Mode.
And it shows which pages.
Think of it like a billboard company calling to tell you how many cars drove past.
Useful. Now here’s what it doesn’t tell you.
It doesn’t show clicks. Because most of the time, there aren’t any.
And it doesn’t tell you whether the answer actually named you. Or whether it just read your page to write about someone else.
So what Google’s handed you is half a map.
Google’s AI. Impressions only.
The other half, ChatGPT, Gemini, whether your brand was named, how often, and against which competitors that’s what Ubersuggest’s AI Search Visibility shows you.
Follow to use these easy explainers to stay ahead of the competition!
